About this mat
Room for a wide stance, with marks to land on
This mat is 32 inches across and 72 long, in TPE at 6 or 8 mm. Lines are printed on the top surface to show where your hands and feet go, which helps most when you practice alone and no one is there to say your stance is off. The extra 8 inches over a standard mat keep your hands on the mat in a wide plank.
Both sides are textured. It comes in blue and black or green and black, with a carrying strap and a mesh bag. Clean spots with a damp cloth, cold water and a mild detergent, lay it flat to dry, and keep it out of the sun.

Before your first session
The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health describes yoga as generally safe for healthy people practicing properly with a qualified instructor, and says that people who are pregnant, older or managing a health condition should talk with their provider first. If you are new, it suggests leaving headstands, shoulder stands and the lotus position for later.
